The Dawood Batcha Educational and Charitable Trust, established in Chennai in 1998 under the chairmanship of Dr. M.A. Dawood Batcha Ph.D., is dedicated to the operation of educational establishments, particularly in rural areas. Its inaugural institution, RDB College of Arts and Science in Papanasam, Thanjavur Dt, was initiated in 1999. Subsequently, in 2003, the RDB Institutions of Management, endorsed by the All-India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, were integrated into this college. Additionally, RDB Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Papanasam—was incorporated into the Trust's portfolio in 2007.

The institutions' high quality fosters self-reliance and success among students, equipping them to become conscientious citizens of India, driven by commitment, dedication, loyalty, and sincerity.

The motto "AIM HIGH, AIM FAR" has been adopted as the guiding principle for the educational institutions administered by the Trust.

Dr. M.A. Dawood Batcha, the Founder Chairman of the Dawood Batcha Educational and Charitable Trust in Chennai, stands as the driving force behind the RDB Educational Institutions. Revered as a distinguished philanthropist and committed educationalist, he brings a wealth of experience across diverse fields and has held significant roles in various organizations.

His extensive global exposure spans visits to over 33 countries, including the US, UK, Germany, among others, fostering substantial interactions with numerous educational institutions worldwide. Driven by his international encounters, he endeavors to instill within his institutions the best practices observed in universities globally, aspiring for each managed educational establishment to not only exemplify a model college but also embody modern educational standards.
